MERGE CORE DEFENSE · BEGINNER GUIDE
Build a defense that survives the first ten waves
Merge Core Defense combines a compact tower-defense board with merge decisions and colored energy links. This launch guide explains the opening decisions that produce the most reliable early run.

1. Fill useful positions before chasing a perfect merge
An empty lane deals no damage. Summon enough turrets to cover the board before repeatedly spending coins in search of one color. A mixed level-one defense is safer than a single strong turret with open routes.
2. Merge identical turrets, then reposition
Select a turret and choose an identical unit to combine them. Higher-level turrets gain a large power increase, but their position still matters. Move the evolved unit into a cell that completes a useful link instead of leaving it where the merge happened.
3. Use each energy color for its real job
- Red links increase damage and help remove armored enemies.
- Blue links slow the invasion and buy every turret more firing time.
- Gold links generate extra coins and improve the next build phase.
Early on, one blue link plus reliable damage is usually safer than an all-gold economy. Add gold when the current wave is already under control.
4. Keep an emergency coin reserve
Do not spend every coin immediately. A small reserve lets you summon after a weak merge result or adapt when runners, shields, regeneration, or a boss changes the next wave's priority.
5. Treat every defeat as permanent progress
Runs unlock research, achievements, and better knowledge of the handcrafted wave patterns. The best short-term target is not wave 30—it is beating your previous best while completing today's challenge.
