ORIGINAL GAME · SURVIVAL FIELD MANUAL

Movement is the weapon you control

Voidlight Survivor is an original five-minute browser roguelite built by Zany Games. Your weapons fire automatically, but the run is not idle: you choose the route through each enemy formation, decide when a shard is safe to collect, aim your ship's firing angle through movement, and spend Dash or Nova before pressure becomes a collision.

Every run uses the same four-part structure. The opening teaches the current enemy mix, then Wardens arrive at 90, 180, and 270 seconds. Level-up choices pause the action, giving you time to compare immediate survival with a build that will still work against the next Warden. Daily Void keeps one seed for the day so repeat attempts are comparable.

01 · FIRST 90 SECONDS

Make space before collecting

Move in short arcs around groups instead of hugging the border. Clear an exit first, then collect the green shard trail behind you. Greedy pickups are the most common cause of an early trapped run.

02 · ACTIVE DEFENSE

Dash escapes; Nova resets

Dash is directional and should cross a closing lane. Nova is strongest when enemies have committed to surrounding you. Spending both together removes your recovery plan, so alternate them whenever possible.

03 · BUILD DECISIONS

Choose a job for each weapon

Use Arc Array for crowds, Rail Lance for a forward escape lane, and Orbit Blades for close protection. Upgrade a weapon that solves the pressure currently visible rather than selecting only the largest number.

A practical first-clear plan

Take one crowd-control weapon, one close-range safeguard, and at least one mobility or hull improvement. Enter each Warden phase with Dash ready, fight near the center long enough to preserve escape angles, and ignore distant shards that would pull you through a dense pack.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move?
Use WASD or drag on desktop. On a phone, drag the left-side joystick. Weapons aim and fire automatically so your decisions stay focused on movement, positioning, Dash, and Nova timing.

Why did I die so quickly?
Do not circle the edge continuously. Cut through safe gaps before enemies close a full ring, save Dash for a blocked exit, and collect nearby green shards only when the route back is open.

What should I choose at level up?
Build one dependable damage engine before stacking utility. Arc Array controls groups, Rail Lance opens a lane through aligned enemies, and Orbit Blades protect close space. A mixed build is safer for a first clear.

How long is a complete run?
A full run lasts five minutes. Wardens arrive at 90, 180, and 270 seconds, turning the run into four readable phases rather than one endless enemy wave.
